Château du Domaine de l'Eglise
The vineyards of Château du Domaine de l'Eglise lies in the shadow of Pomerol's Pomerol. It is one of the oldest estates in the the appellation, dating back to 1589. Owned by of the Hospitaller Order and the Church, it was sold in 1793 as church property, it remained in the same in the same family until it was taken over in 1973 by Emile Castéja. The vineyard, 500 meters from Pétrus, is mainly planted with Merlot. From a terroir of clay and gravel with a subsoil of the iron dross of the heart of Pomerol, Domaine de l'Église produces wines that are full-bodied, round, captivating and very elegant.

merlot
voluptuous
long-keeping wine

" This vintage is close to perfection. This wine made a strong impression at tasting, seducing us with its punchy fruit, mingled with a touch of butterscotch and spices, and its ample, savory mouthfeel. The tannin is sumptuous, tight but fine, without harshness, punctuating a rich, generous, very dense body. A little more freshness would have taken it even further". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery).
