"A true Pomerol that assumes its power, in a silky case. The nose is warm and sunny, with candied blackberries, blueberries and dried flowers. With aeration, the more muted notes of barrel enrich the whole with pastry and cocoa scents. Superb volume and density, lush and balanced, the palate delivers a deep, savory sap, underpinned by silky, liquorice tannins". (Guide Hachette des Vins 2021 Edition)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2018 guide) 4*Stars (High-quality producers, the glories of the French vineyard)
About the domain :
This well-restored château is a reception venue worthy of its terroir, considered one of the best in the appellation on the northern plateau. Henri Parent is now at the helm after the death of his mother. The soft, sculptural texture, breed and intensity of sap have made le-gay one of the most sought-after vintages since 2004. When the wines have aged, we'll be able to grasp all their nuances and great refinement. The latest vintages hold great promise.

About the wine:
A truly powerful Pomerol, in a silky setting. The nose is warm and sunny, with candied blackberry, blueberry and dried flower aromas. With aeration, the more muted notes of barrel enrich the whole with pastry and cocoa scents. Superb volume and density, lush and balanced, the palate delivers a deep, savory sap, underpinned by silky, liquorice tannins. A wine for long ageing.
About the domain :
A leading figure in Pomerol who passed away in 2013, Catherine Péré-Vergé, heiress to the d'Arques crystal glassworks, ran three Pomerol estates that she brought to the top: Montviel, acquired in 1985, Le Gay and La Violette, completed by La Gravière in Lalande. Today, these estates are run by her son Henri Parent.

Estate rated (2018 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Heiress to the d'Arques crystal glassworks, Catherine Péré-Vergé, who passed away in 2013, spared no effort to raise this estate to the top. In just a few years, she succeeded in turning Château Le Gay into one of the appellation's leading brands. The advice of oenologist Michel Rolland and great attention to the vines have transformed the estate, part of which is ideally planted not far from Lafleur. Vinification is carried out entirely in barrels, resulting in generous, modern wines for lovers of fleshy Pomerols. The estate is now run by Henri Parent, Catherine Péré-Vergé's son.

Yves Beck
Wine rated (2019 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
What elegance in this bouquet, with a hint of candied fruit, chocolate, raspberry and mint. The prelude is tasty and slightly sweet. On the palate, the wine is fine and elegant, with well-integrated tannins. They are full of character but also charming and harmonize perfectly with the structure. A very good wine. 2023-2037
Vert de Vin
Rated wine (2018 guide) 94/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant, well-executed and racy. Notes of full-bodied blackcurrant, full-bodied blackberry and, to a lesser extent, full-bodied raspberry are combined with small/fine touches of blueberry, racy/clayy minerality, as well as fine/discrete touches of sweet spices and a discreet hint of camphor. Fruity, balanced and suave on the palate, with good definition, fine creaminess and fatness. On the palate, notes of boysenberry and fleshy blackcurrant are combined with hints of black cherry, crushed raspberry, toast, chocolate and tonka bean, as well as a subtle hint of vanilla, racy minerality, blueberry and fine toasted notes on the finish. Fine, well-managed tannins. Good length.
