"It's unanimously acclaimed: scintillating, fascinating, magnificent..."

"The notions of freshness, precision and complexity are evident from the very first whiff. BSB 2021 is full of energy, tension, but also a slight sweetness. A wine of clarity, high-definition, with many details that only reinforce its relevance. The tannins, coupled with the acid structure, provide a very good foundation, and the wine is literally on a roll. Not necessarily in terms of power, but above all in terms of temperament, energy, salivation, crystallinity and persistence. And, above all, Beau-Séjour Bécot's nature is there, in little winks (timid hints of chocolate and ripe dark berries) that clearly remind us where we are. A sparkling, sapid, even thirst-quenching wine that makes you want to have another glass... at the very least!" (Yves Beck 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Domaine rated (2018 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

Magnificently situated in the central-western part of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau, the vineyard is masterfully run by the Bécot brothers, Dominique and Gérard, who produce an expressive wine, possessing uprightness and density. Gérard Bécot officially retired on January 2, 2014. General management has been entrusted to his son-in-law, Julien Barthe, husband of Juliette Bécot, who continues to oversee the vinifications. Dominique Bécot, Gérard's brother, remains at the head of the vineyard. His children Pierre and Caroline also work on the estate. In January 2014, Beauséjour bought Château Haut-Pourret, 2.5 ha on the south coast, which will be vinified in the La Gomerie winery, under the Le Bécot de Beau-Séjour label. Vinification methods are evolving, aiming for an elegant approach to fruit, and seeking to give volume to the firmness and length of wines made from limestone. Maintaining its rank of premier grand cru classé in 2012, the château has obtained permission to include the La Gomerie parcel in its land register.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 96/100

About the wine:

Beau-Séjour Bécot 2021 is powerful, dense and very tasty, with a strong Cabernet Franc presence. Red cherry, blood orange, spice, mint, rose petal, incense and scorched earth give this deep, layered Saint-Émilion tons of gustatory complexity. This is a fascinating wine, so typical of its terroir. 2029-2051

Rated wine (guide 2022) 96-97/100

About the wine:

Beau-Séjour Bécot expresses its slender, tonic character with a very fine, precise and punchy expression of fruit. In 2021, we find all the indicators of this terroir, its florality, its slender minerality, its propulsive character. The definition is impeccable, arched over a juicy flesh, a tracing acidity that lengthens the wine, and a finely chiseled tannic suit. A very fine success for the vintage.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Rated wine (guide 2022) 98-99/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

A lovely, powerful nose (with finesse), nicely racy, offering intensity with precision, mastery, elegance, harmony, straightforward elegance and a certain strength of limestone. Notes of bright wild blackberry, small black berries and a hint of limestone are combined with hints of graphite, spice, wild strawberry, pepper, lily, a subtle hint of cardamom and a subtle, almost camphor-like hint. On the palate, the wine is nicely balanced and racy, offering freshness, tension, precision, juiciness, a lovely acidic structure, a fine "infusion" aspect, fine grain and controlled power. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, juicy/pulpy cherry and, more lightly, juicy/fresh black berries, combined with fine touches of bright wild strawberry, fine hints of licorice, bourbon vanilla, a subtle hint of juicy/pulpy blueberry, as well as discreet cardamom and an imperceptible hint of tobacco, cinnamon and oriental spices. The tannins are well-mannered, elegant, mellow and sapid. Good length and persistence. Subtlety and attention to detail in freshness and delicacy/generosity.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 96/100

About the wine:

Aromas of licorice, cherry, flowers, cocoa, iodine nuances and a hint of cigar wrapper mingle with the perfume. On the palate, the wine expresses purity, energy, grace and elegance. The tannins are silky, the character is refined, relaxed and, above all, there's a magnificent sensation of purity in the red fruit that is perceived in the mid-palate, throughout the elegant, long, energetic and sensual finish. The wine is 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. A great success for the vintage. 2025-2050

Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing

Rated wine (guide 2022) 95-97/100

About the wine:

Magnificent burst of black fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant, violet and a touch of lilac and black cherry. Pure and clean. What pure, clean aromatic precision! Straightforward on the palate, magnificently taut, structurally long, hyper-precise tannins for a Beau-Séjour Bécot very close to its terroir and with remarkable airy freshness. Unlike sunny vintages, this vintage leaves nothing to filter, and is surely one of the most expressive of Beau-Séjour Bécot's terroir. Magnificent in its purity and limestone precision.
