Cheval Noir
For over 80 years Cheval Noir belongs to the Bordeaux trading house Mähler-Besse. It is a great success with Bordeaux wine lovers. The Black Horse symbol here refers to hard work, elegance, power and courage.

This wine estate offers 4 different cuvées: a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, a Saint-Émilion, a Bordeaux red and a Bordeaux white. The Saint-Émilion and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru parcels are located to the east of the appellation, extending over 5 hectares and bordering the lands of the prestigious Château Angélus (1er Grand Cru Classé). Its owner, Hubert de Boüard, shares his know-how and advises the estate. Cheval Noir in the making of its wines.

Bordeaux white and red grapes are grown on hillsides, where they thrive in an interesting clay-limestone terroir. The dry white Cheval Noir Bordeaux is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, which justifies its minerality and roundness. As for Cheval Noir Bordeaux rouge, its blend is made up of Merlot and Cabernet, explaining its woody, fruity notes.

"An ideal white for aperitifs!

Made from a blend of wines from different partner vineyards, Cheval Noir Bordeaux Blanc reflects the expertise and skills of our oenologists. Extensive research is carried out in the Bordeaux vineyards to identify the terroirs most conducive to the ripening of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, which makes up the majority of Cheval Noir Bordeaux Blanc. Sémillon adds roundness to the wine. This Bordeaux is a fresh white wine, to be drunk young with an aperitif, shellfish or white meat.
