Rated Domaine (2021 guide) Wine producer recommended by Wine Spectator
About the wine:
Fresh and direct, with harmonious notes of cherry and prune, carried by a hint of red licorice and a floral finish. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100
Domain rated (guide 2022) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
Aged in wood and with full black fruit, this wine is spicy and almost ready to drink. It needs softer tannins and less vibrant fruit. Wait for spring 2022.

Classic in style, this lovely Saint-Emilion opens with a straightforward, silky attack, followed by a full-bodied palate structured by solid, slightly austere tannins. The flavors are well-released from the ageing process, with concentrated black plum and blackcurrant jam, combined with hints of chocolate and licorice. Full-bodied pepper finish. Lacks a little sparkle and relief. Reasonably priced. Serve with juicy meat or roasted feather. For now, enjoyed with family with roast pheasant supremes embellished with sautéed bacon and kale. Score = 4.
