"A superb bottle!"

Lafon-Rochet's bouquet reveals itself with delicacy and precision. It is marked by notes of graphite, dark berries and cedar. On the palate, it stands out for its fruity intensity and creaminess. What harmony and finesse on the palate, and what prospects. The wine is fine, elegant, powerful and fresh! Bravo to the whole team! Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 4*Stars (Very high quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

One of the last direct family-owned estates, this 1855 Classified Growth is the object of Basile Tesseron's utmost attention. Well advised by Jean-Claude Berrouet, he makes the most of his Cabernet-sauvignon and Merlot to produce a tasty, consistent wine, offering exemplary value for money in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Impressive progress in 2020.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

This lovely Saint-Estèphe cru has just passed into the hands of businessman Jacky Lorenzetti, already owner of Châteaux Pédesclaux and Lilian Ladouys and co-shareholder of Issan. A dedicated team is in charge of taking this wine, with its obvious potential, to even greater heights. It will be very interesting to follow. Previous vintages, produced under the guidance of Basile Tesseron, have been quite good and represent good bargains.

Rated wine (guide 2021 ) 95/100

About the wine:

This wine comes from a distinctive estate. It's rich, with tannins cushioned by aromas of jammy blackberries and good acidity. Both structured and fruity, this wine will evolve well, with balance. Drink from 2026.

Wine rated (guide 2021) 94/100

About the wine:

Blackberry and blueberry on the nose, with hints of dark chocolate, minerals and earth. Full-bodied, with firm tannins. Fleshy, savory texture. Tasty finish with good length. Lovely ripe fruit on the mid-palate. To be tried after 2025.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

A breathtaking nose, expressive and confident, with full-bodied tobacco aromas. This power is confirmed by a limpid, languorous palate of ripe fruit and dark chocolate, distinguished above all by a texture in which you want to lose yourself, and a lively, complex, gently salty finish... 2020 - 2040

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Wine rated (guide 2022) 94/100

About the wine:

Dark, intense and beautiful color. Purple hue. Very aromatic nose, with ripe fruit. The wine becomes more intense, purer and finer when the glass is shaken. And so much the better. Delicate on the entry, very aromatic in the middle, with a melting body and a refined touch, this wine scores again on the finish, where it ends long and complex, powerful and without marking the tannin. A superb wine.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Rated wine (guide 2021) 94-95/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fruity, fresh, elegant and well-crafted, offering concentration and intensity. Notes of bright blackcurrant, boysenberry and, to a lesser extent, small wild red berries are combined with hints of violet, lily and hints of racy minerality, rose, zan and pepper. The palate is fruity and well-balanced, with a lovely juiciness, greediness, fine grain, complexity, depth, fine fleshiness, suavity, as well as a little concentration and power. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of bright wild blackberry, blackcurrant and, more lightly, violet, combined with touches of bright raspberry, tonka bean, toastiness, vanilla, a subtle hint of nutmeg and a very discreet hint of sweet tobacco and toast (in the background). Good length. A very fine hint of chocolate on the finish.

Anthocyanins - Yohan Castaing

Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing

Rated 95/100

About the wine:

Fresh, mentholated nose, beautiful floral notes, "al dente" black fruit, all in a remarkable burst of fruit. Notes of iris and peony on the palate, an imposing yet fresh and delicate texture. Crystalline and fresh. A beautiful bottle that will surpass the 2016. For 20 to 30 years.
