"A great deal!"
"Medium garnet red. In addition to the woodiness, which appears first, I also detect fruity notes and spices. An inviting candied touch. The palate confirms the charming tendency, but there's more to it than that. The body is creamy, balanced, dense and perfectly supported by its tannins. The tannins go hand in hand with the acid structure , which lends breed and freshness. A promising wine. Château Petit Bocq
Saint-Estèphe
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
This discreet 14-hectare château, located right next to Haut-Marbuzet on the same plateau, offers a fine representation of Saint-Estèphe terroirs. However, the high proportion of Merlot in the blends gives the wine a deliberately charming, flattering style.

Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2018 guide) 91/100 (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
Petit Bocq 2016 is deep garnet-purple with aromas of cedar and earth over a core of red and black currants, cherries and undergrowth. The medium-bodied palate is elegant, vibrant and refreshing. 2019 - 2031
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2021) 16.5/20 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
A racy, sappy, well-crafted wine with a very ripe profile. A fine classic with a bright future. The wood should melt away.

About the wine:
A supple, fleshy wine of average weight for this appellation, with plenty of energy to drive the moderately dry, tannic finish. Lovely black fruit makes it approachable, so drink up or cellar.

Dark garnet-red color. Opulent raspberry/cocoa nose. Powerful, slightly seductive, full-bodied attack with ripe black fruit, enhanced by forest floor nuances, mocha and leather notes, enveloped by sweet spices and a melted, elegant woodiness. These beautiful flavors express themselves in perfect balance against a backdrop of dense, well-integrated and polished tannins, with a supple, mellow texture, enhanced by a carefully measured touch of acidity. The racy ensemble continues long into a creamy finish. Very well matured, well-built and complete, with the added bonus of guaranteed longevity until at least 2030. To be "packed" in cases if possible, as the quality is particularly excellent and the price attractive. Producing voluptuous, suave sensations on this 2016 at its peak, this gastronomic Petit Bocq begs to be enjoyed with refined, tender dishes, such as a pheasant salmis accompanied by braised endives. Score = 4.5.
