"Purplish purple. Bouquet marked by Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of blackcurrant and a refreshing touch of eucalyptus. Finally, a touch of graphite. Slightly creamy, refreshing attack. The wine has body thanks to its tannins. These are well coated, admittedly still a little angular, but in phase with the racy structure. The angles will have to round out on the finish, but I don't think this will be a problem for this wine. It has the stature to go on. Fruity, persistent finish." About the wine:

Plum, redcurrant with fresh acidity and smoky coffee grounds on the finish. Earthy notes overall, without heaviness and very pleasant. Tasted twice, a week apart. To be enjoyed between 2023 and 2034.

Domaine rated 2**Stars (Successful production)

About the domain :

"Château Ségur de Cabanac has belonged to the Delon family since 1985. Since 1993, Guy Delon has been supported by his children. Far from the "big" châteaux, the estate comprises 7 small hectares in the eastern part of the Saint-Estèphe commune, on a gravelly hillside overlooking the Gironde. Complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for 60% of the grape varieties planted here, and planting densities are high, at 9,000 vines per hectare.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Rated wine (2020 guide) 88-89/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose offers power and a fine incisiveness. There are notes of ripe blackcurrant, ripe raspberry and, more lightly, gray pepper/timutus, combined with hints of blackcurrant, zan, small crushed red berries, as well as a touch of blueberry, vanilla, toast and a very discreet hint of rose (in the background). On the palate, the wine is fruity, tightly wound, with a certain juiciness, fatness, minerality, fine tension, roundness, a little richness, fine unctuosity and a little freshness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/crushed raspberry, crushed blackcurrant and, more lightly, violet, combined with hints of small, plump/juicy red berries, juicy blackberry and hints of racy minerality, toastiness, tonka bean/chocolate, crushed almond, vanilla and fine hints of clove. Good length.
