"Purplish violet. Bouquet marked by Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of blackcurrant and a refreshing touch of eucalyptus. Finally, I detect a hint of graphite. Slightly creamy and refreshing attack. The wine has body thanks to its tannins. These are well coated, still a little angular but in line with the racy structure. The edges should therefore round out on the finish, but I don't think that will be a problem for this wine. It has the stature to go places. Fruity and persistent finish." (Yves Beck 2020) - Delivery in wooden crates is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

2-star rating (Successful production)

About the estate:

Château Ségur de Cabanac has belonged to the Delon family since 1985. From 1993 onwards, Guy Delon was assisted by his children. Far from the "grand" châteaux, the property covers 7 small hectares in the eastern part of the commune of Saint-Estèphe, on a gravelly hilltop overlooking the Gironde. Complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for 60% of the vineyard here; planting densities are high, with 9,000 vines per hectare."

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 88-89/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is powerful and incisive. It reveals notes of ripe blackcurrant, ripe raspberry and, more subtly, gray pepper/Timut pepper, combined with hints of blackcurrant, zan, crushed red berries, a touch of blueberry, vanilla, toast and a very subtle hint of rose (in the background). The palate is fruity, finely structured and offers a certain juiciness, richness, a mineral texture, fine tension, roundness, a little richness, a fine creaminess and a little freshness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/crushed raspberry, crushed blackcurrant and, more subtly, violet, combined with hints of juicy/juicy red berries, juicy blackberries, and hints of racy minerality, toast, tonka bean/chocolate, crushed almonds, vanilla, and subtle hints of cloves. Good length.
