Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Located opposite Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien, this property is now managed by Ludovic and Julien Meffre. The family also owns Château Lalande and Château Bellegrave in Pauillac. The wines produced are elegant and harmoniously balanced. They correspond perfectly to the idea of a Saint Julien.

Domaine noté Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
The result of the division of Château Saint-Pierre, of which it was historically a part, Château du Glana had shrunk to just 4 hectares by the end of the 1950s. It owes its success to Gabriel Meffre, a nurseryman from the Vaucluse region, who acquired it in 1961 and gradually increased its size to over 40 hectares. Today, his grandchildren, Ludovic and Julien, run the estate, which over the last ten years has benefited from a complete overhaul of its facilities and a return to vineyard management. The wines are now up to scratch: charming, supple and elegant Saint Julien.
