"His potential is obvious and his integrity admirable. Highly recommended!"

"Talbot 2020 is just as impressive as it was in the barrel. The strong inflections of Cabernet Sauvignon are first expressed in the bouquet, then in the rich and expressive palate of black cherry and plum. A powerful and imposing Saint-Julien, Talbot is fabulous in 2020. I love the overall breadth and intensity of this wine, but there is just as much concentration to maintain balance. The 2020 is superb, certainly the best in recent memory." (Vinous 2022) - Wooden case delivery available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)

Wine rated (2021 guide) 96-97/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

This estate, one of the most popular in the Médoc, still belongs to the Cordier family. It produces an abundant harvest, which has gained in strength and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal of Saint-Julien, with its generous bouquet, great stability, and reliable aging potential. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and lively, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent work carried out with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt in a cleverly modernized vat room and cellar is bearing fruit.

About wine:

This is a great Talbot, a real success for the château. Subtle and skillful touches are present throughout the tasting, from the notes of smoked turmeric that insinuate themselves into the black fruits to the refined aromas that accompany the body of the wine. Balance and freshness, with an extremely delicious salty finish. Jean-Michel Laporte has been at the helm of this wine for three years and is doing an excellent job. 2026-2040

Wine rating (2024 guide) 3*Coup de Coeur (Exceptional wine)

About wine:

A great Talbot, highly precise and bursting with energy. The color is dark, intense, and clear. The nose, in harmony, reveals deep and complex aromas of coffee, pepper, crushed strawberry, cherry, and tobacco. But it is on the palate that the wine really comes into its own, with exceptional class: full-bodied, round, fleshy, juicy, and incredibly seductive with its silky, delicate tannins and great freshness that carries the finish far, very far. Irresistible, and for a long time to come. 2028-2040

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

The wine is well-structured, with great depth, but there is a slight hint of wood at this stage. Nothing dramatic, however, it will settle and harmonize. Its potential is evident and its integrity is admirable.

About the estate:

This powerful brand, rightly appreciated by wine lovers, has made a strong comeback, now producing the wines we have come to expect from it. Equipped with high-performance, modern facilities and skillfully managed, the vast Nancy Bignon-Cordier estate, led by Jean-Michel Laporte, is reviving the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. A flamboyant wine, the archetype of the great classic Saint-Julien.

About wine:

Exuberant, with generous notes of plum sauce, licorice root, blackberry compote, and apple wood vying for attention, while hints of graphite and cast iron linger in the background. It reveals a hint of exotic toast that enhances the finish. Best between 2030 and 2040. Highly recommended.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100

About wine:

A confident nose with lovely aromas of coffee, red berries, and violets picked from the tree, with a hint of dahlia. This is an exceptional Talbot, with a taffeta texture, rich notes of dark chocolate, a salty edge, and a length and chewiness that almost make it a meal in itself! 2028 - 2048

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2021 guide) 96/100

About wine:

Talbot 2020 picks up speed with concentrated, well-integrated fruit, clarity, and verve. With its well-balanced texture, the wine is well-centered, fairly straightforward, with good length and length, supported by a beautiful tannic structure and finishing with a lovely freshness. It is clean and dynamic.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2022 guide) 97/100

About wine:

Talbot 2020 reveals itself in crescendo and highlights how beneficial aeration is in the context of a young wine. It begins by revealing roasted notes, quickly followed by aromas of blackcurrant and eucalyptus, then classic notes of cedar and graphite. These last two points refer to the terroir, which is clearly evident. There is beautiful diversity on the palate, where the wine displays sweetness, power, and energy. Its dense, fine-grained tannins follow a slight sweetness on the attack. Thanks to the character of its structuring acidity, the wine shines with freshness and persistence. Add to this depth and precision, and everything comes together to highlight the greatness of Château Talbot 2020! An exciting, brilliant, and convincing wine! 2027-2047
