"A Talbot that excels in its ability to combine freshness and fruitiness! ~ Yves Beck"

"With its lively fruit pulp, Talbot confirms its new style despite the prejudices of the vintage. The nose has a pleasant depth, more plunging than slender, but the palate takes the opposite tack, biting and vertical, marked by a tonic and sharp juice, with a finely smoky finish. The wine stretches out in length and persistence, much to our delight. (Terre de Vins 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Wine rated (2022 guide) 94-95/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

This estate, one of the most popular in the Médoc, still belongs to the Cordier family. It produces an abundant harvest, which has gained in strength and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal of Saint-Julien, with its generous bouquet, great stability, and reliable aging potential. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and lively, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent work carried out with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt in a cleverly modernized vat room and cellar is bearing fruit.

About wine:

The nose is marked by spearmint and blackcurrant, as well as a magnificent fragrance. Excellent intensity on an aroma of blackcurrant juice, without being fleshy, but rather linear and direct. The lightness of flavor is balanced with fine, just-grabbing tannins, which also offer hints of tobacco and roasted spice flavors. Overall, this is a delicate and well-crafted wine for the vintage, with a smooth persistence of fruit and a lively finish. It will undoubtedly round out with age, giving more density to the bramble fruit, beautifully presented and tinged with flowers. Elegance and class, a promising wine. 2024-2048

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

The vintage continues its fine run with a 2021 that has great charm and admirable silkiness on the palate. Very nice texture and refined tannins: a great success.

About the estate:

This powerful brand, rightly appreciated by wine lovers, has made a strong comeback, now producing the wines we have come to expect from it. Equipped with high-performance, modern facilities and skillfully managed, the vast Nancy Bignon-Cordier estate, led by Jean-Michel Laporte, is reviving the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. A flamboyant wine, the archetype of the great classic Saint-Julien.

About wine:

Talbot's bouquet is bursting with freshness and fruit, with spicy nuances and hints of wild berries! On the palate, the wine is delicious, well supported by its acidity and endowed with compact tannins. A Talbot that excels in its ability to combine freshness and fruit, and which is not only promising but also convincing. It reveals itself slowly but surely! 2026-2051

About wine:

Deep purple color with violet highlights and a black core. Elegant nose of juicy fruit, ripe blackcurrant and elderberry, with hints of plum in the background. On the palate, the wine is well-structured, moderately heavy but very persistent, with notes of juicy fruit and sweet spices. A very elegant Talbot.
