Drink or Keep
Maison Bouchard Père et Fils, which has had a strong presence on the Beaune terroir for over two centuries, owns a third of this particularly steep parcel, with its clay-limestone subsoil. "Vaux" refers to a depression in the slope where the vines are located. This Beaune 1er Cru has a bouquet of jammy fruit with hints of undergrowth on the nose. Fleshy and harmonious, the palate is sustained by elegant, racy tannins.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of premier and grand cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.
