"The archetypal Beaune Premiers Crus, waiting to be discovered!
"An intense sage aroma is married to bright red fruits - currant, raspberry and cranberry - as well as a solid dose of well-built tannins on the medium-bodied palate. Good length and interesting savory character on the finish. Drink now, but a little more time in bottle would be beneficial. Best from 2025. (James Suckling 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Bursting with aromas of raspberry, sweet spice and deep earth notes, Château 2021's Beaune 1er Cru is medium-bodied, full-bodied and charming, with lively acids, melted tannins and a saline finish. This high-quality, relatively accessible blend is always reliable, although I confess I'd like to see some of its larger parcels as stand-alone cuvées.
