Robert Parker
"The 2011 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre offers aromas of ripe pear, kiwi, grapefruit tinged with white pepper, lemon zest, chalk and marine accents. There's so much richness in this bottle that you have to get up high to get a better view, and that's not what I'd say about many wines of the vintage. I suspect it's capable of growing in stature, and it will be well worth following through 2018 at least." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2014 guide) 17/20 (benchmark wine)
About the wine:
Very pure, flinty nose, sharp palate, tight, taut finish, lots of character.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2014 guide) 2**Stars (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
Favorite last year with a superb Mont de Milieu, Bernard Billaud came close to repeating the feat with his 2011 1er cru Montée de Tonnerre. He had to settle for two stars. A wine remarkable for its straightforwardness and precision. The nose, of great finesse, awakens on white flowers. Round on the palate, with a hint of vivacity. A subtle cuvée that would go well with shellfish.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Rated 15.5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
A real coup de cœur for this high-flying Chablis, which easily overcomes the vintage effect to offer superb tactile balance. We love the amplitude on the palate, where the mineral relief cuts through the rhythm. The chalky, milky finish is a thing of beauty. An immense bottle to wait a little longer for the pleasure to increase tenfold.

About the domain :
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2014 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Montée de Tonnerre is just as full, with a superb mineral footprint.
About the domain :
This family estate, established in Chablis since 1815, changed hands in 2014, becoming part of the Faiveley family, which thus expanded its portfolio, already comprising 20 hectares of the finest Chablis terroirs, with four Grand Crus: Les Clos, Les Preuses, Vaudésir and Les Blanchots; four Premier Crus: Montée de Tonnerre, Mont-de-Milieu, Fourchaume and Vaillons, as well as Chablis and Petit Chablis. Olivier Bailly was appointed régisseur in 2014, and quickly refined the management of the elevages. From 2016 onwards, the return of high quality is evident, and this address is now one of the safest in Chablis.
