Domaine Billaud-Simon
Domaine Billaud-Simon is one of the most emblematic producers in Chablis, expressing the richness of its winegrowing heritage through a highly expressive, unique and personal style of wine. Domaine Billaud-Simon produces Chablis wines where the airy freshness of the palate combines admirably with the full ripeness of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir.

Bought by Faiveley in 2014, Domaine Billaud-Simon has retained all the spirit of this two-hundred-year-old estate.

"Aromas of pear, citrus oil and dried white flowers introduce the 2018 Petit Chablis, a medium-bodied, elegantly fleshy wine with lively acids and a saline finish. Bottled under Diam, it will drink well young." (Wine Advocate 2020)

"The Grand Cru Vaudésir 2012 has a fresh, precise, granitic nose that opens up with aeration. The palate is straightforward, with lovely complexity, a touch of orange peel, tangerine and a hint of ginger to lift the long finish. Very nice potential." (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker). Vaudésir is a Chablis Grand Cru "built like a Romanesque cathedral" says the estate...

"The 2011 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre offers aromas of ripe pear, kiwi, grapefruit tinged with white pepper, lemon zest, chalk and marine accents. There's so much richness in this bottle that you have to get up high to get a better view, and that's not what I'd say about many wines of the vintage. I suspect it's capable of growing in stature, and it will be well worth following through 2018 at least." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

"The 2011 Chablis Vaillons wraps around the palate with serious, deep intensity. Yellow peach, apricot, flowers and spices meld beautifully in a long, polished finish. This is a fine demonstration of the Vaillons. light, floral notes linger on the palate of this welcoming and delicious Chablis." (Wine Advocate August 2012 - Robert Parker)

Domaine Billaud-Simon - Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots Vieilles Vignes 2009

Notes : Robert Parker 90/100, RVF 18/20
Les Blanchots Vieilles Vignes is a fine Grand Cru that opens with honeyed, toasty nuances, fresh, fruity notes of lemongrass, verbena, lightly mentholated with a background of honey candy... The woodiness is present, with delicate vanilla aromas. A real must-have!

Notes : Robert Parker 94/100, RVF 17/20, Bettane & Desseauve 17/20
Les Preuses is a rather feminine cuvée, expressing flattering honeyed aromas that are quickly followed by green and mineral nuances. The highly diversified palette of aromas is complex, with a ripeness of fruit that blends honey with toast, lemon with vanilla. The wine is dense and long, with an elegant, racy structure. Brilliant!
