"Superb!"

"I like the creamy texture of this wine. On the nose, there are sliced almonds, wet stones and chopped apples. Very fresh and balanced, with medium body and a stony finish. Drink now. (James Suckling 2024)

About the domain :

Henri Michaut planted the first vines in 1947 and was for many years a cooperator at La Chablisienne. Extraordinary value for money, a great success in this very good vintage. Domaine de la Motte is a very consistent winemaker in terms of quality.

1st bottle. At the 1st tasting I was disappointed by this Chablis which I was expecting a lot. Probably a problem with this bottle! I tried it again yesterday, and it's now excellent: substance, length, a Chablis almost on the level of a Premier Cru. A great bargain for the price.

Lichte strogele kleur. Score: 15,5/20

One of the appellation's best entry-level RQPs. Powerful, full-bodied Chablis, where minerality plays its part, dominating delicate flavors of citrus, yellow peach and spring flowers. The suave, unctuous texture extends into a lingering finish marked by fine saline notes that maintain the surprising freshness and intense purity of this exceptional 2022 vintage. Still a little closed, this Chardonnay will release its full aromatic palette at its peak at the end of 2024, and for many years to come. Enjoy it today for its subtle, taut mineral profile with iodized dishes, such as medallions of lobster tail sautéed in foaming butter, or later with the development of honey notes to accompany Burgundy snails in parsley butter. Score = 4.1.
