"Chalky, stony notes mingle with pastry and red to black cherries, all leading to a palate that shows good acidity, impressive depth and weight of tannins. A fresh vintage expression with more intensity on the finish. This one will age very well. Try from 2024." (James Suckling - 2018).The Côte de Beaune's only red Grand Cru, Corton is also a historic vineyard whose first traces date back to the 2nd century BC. Later, Corton became Charlemagne's favorite wine. It is the only Côte d'Or Grand Cru to be divided into sub-climates. "Le Corton" refers to the parcel that gave its name to the Corton appellation.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of premier and grand cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
Marked by a powdery note, it smells of rum raisins. This woody expression is not the noblest, as it buries the fruit. On the palate, the power of the terroir makes itself felt.
