"Between refinement and intensity... The Phoenix of the hosts of these vineyards!"
"This is the heart of the Grand Cru. Intense on the nose, subtly perfumed, it has benefited from well-chosen ageing that gently blends with the elements of the wine. It has great finesse, a delicacy well beyond the archetypal Échezeaux." (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve)

About the wine:
This is the heart of the Grand Cru. Intense, subtly perfumed on the nose, it has benefited from a well-chosen ageing process that gently blends with the elements of the wine. It's a wine of great finesse, a delicacy well beyond the archetypal Échezeaux.
About the domain :
Run by the Devillard family, who also own Château de Chamirey in Mercurey, the vineyard is located on remarkable terroirs in the south of the Côte de Nuits, and its production is vinified in the spirit of modern wines, seeking high grape maturity and deep, voluptuous textures. The results have been convincing in recent years, starting with the communal appellations, with very fine juices when we knew them to be rather solid. All the possible fullness of 2018 has been captured here, and these will be wines for laying down, or even very long laying down for the nuits and the échezeaux. Also a lovely red Burgundy.
