16/20

RVF (G&M)

A benchmark for the appellation, this Clos de la Perrière is not its first "coup de coeur"; the 2013 version joins the 2007-2008-2009 "magic trilogy" and the sunny 2003 vintage on the list. An intense crimson color, a generous nose of cooked fruit highlighted by subtle oak, first impressions invite you to continue. On the palate, the wine is round, rich and suave, with great length, underpinned by a noble woodiness and velvety tannins that give it a very courtly character. Already harmonious, this Hautes-Cotes will only gain in complexity with time". (Le Guide Hachette des vins 2016)

About the domain :

The father is Régis; the son is Alexandre. The oenologist is Kyriakos Kynigopoulos, a renowned Greek-born specialist. On a 19-hectare estate, they make the most of Burgundy's terroirs, as witnessed by the many "coups de coeur" they've won for their Côte de Beaune and Hautes Côtes wines.

About the wine:

Underneath its carmine juice, the graphite woodiness covers the glass. A supple, generous starter of burlat cherry with a hint of black forest chocolate leaves a delectable taste on the palate. A liquid pastry to share with friends. Bravo to their authors.

Disappointed because not in phase with the comments of the guide hachette. Maybe I waited too long?

Clean attack and acidity that lingers on the palate. Lack of fat, although the palate is quite long.

A wine of great finesse! Very floral and fruity, especially raspberry and wild berries. Very full and supple on the palate, with a toasty base and super-smooth tannins. A real delight!
