And we're delighted that this has not been achieved at the expense of quality and style at all levels of appellation and price. Reflection on the work in the vineyard is bearing fruit, and the house's wines play on the straightforwardness and precision of expression of each cuvée, in white as in red. The 2017 range is once again successful and coherent.","Guide Hachette des vins","Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)","Founded in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825, this estate has been a household name in Burgundy for 7 generations. Erwan Faiveley, who succeeded his father François, has been at the helm since 2005. The style of the wines has subtly evolved: solidly built around a dense, less austere body than in the past, they assert a frank fruitiness with a more precocious expression. If the woody notes were once a little green, they now take on toasty flavors. In recent vintages, however, the grapes have tended to integrate better. The wines as a whole, particularly the reds, have made considerable progress. A spectacular new vat room was used for the first time for the 2018 harvest. This estate has progressed its wines with precision and intelligence.","Customer reviews","No notes available","Background","Buy your Faiveley wines at the best price on private sale!","20031 customer advice","from €99 on your 1st order","-20€","Access to sales","An expert selection","The best wines and champagnes rated by the greatest guides (Hachette, Gault Millau, La Revue du Vin de France, Bettane & Desseauve, Parker, Concours, ...).","Direct from the estates","For impeccable preservation, all the bottles of wine for sale on our site are still in the cellar of the winery or its merchant at the time of your purchase.","Wines at the best price","You always get the best price on the wines you buy on 1jour1vin , and if you find your wine cheaper on another site, we'll refund the difference.","Best prices","Secure payment","Careful delivery","Customer service","Contact","Delivery","Help/FAQ","GTC","Privacy policy","Wine news","1jour1vin Reviews","Download application","Navigation problems","Manage my cookies","Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, and should be consumed in moderation.","1jour1vin - 2025","Domaine Faiveley - Ladoix rouge 2017","Domaine Faiveley - Nuits-Saint-Georges 2017","Domaine Faiveley - Marsannay 2018","Domaine Faiveley - Ladoix white 2019","Joseph Faiveley - Volnay 2017","Joseph Faiveley - Pommard 2017","Domaine Faiveley - Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2018","Domaine Faiveley - Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Lavières 2018","Joseph Faiveley - Chambolle-Musigny 2018","Joseph Faiveley - Vosne-Romanée 2019","Domaine Faiveley - Montagny 2022","Domaine Faiveley - Rully Les Villeranges 2022","Domaine Faiveley - Burgundy Chardonnay 2021","Domaine Faiveley - Burgundy Pinot Noir 2021","Domaine Faiveley - Mercurey Vieilles Vignes 2022","Monthélie belongs to the Appellation Village category of the Côte de Beaune wine-growing region in Côte-d'Or, and encompasses 15 distinct climats recognized as Premier Cru. Wines labelled Monthélie or Monthélie Premier Cru may or may not mention the specific climate from which they originate. Monthélie 's terroir benefits from a predominantly southern and southeastern exposure, with vineyards rooted in Bathonian gravelly limestone, topped by a layer of red clay and marl. This terroir stretches along the slopes of Volnay and the Auxey-Duresses valley, where the argovian limestone substratum and the east or west orientation vary according to the slope, at an altitude of between 230 and 370 meters. The red wines produced in this AOC derive their essence exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape, while the white wines are made from the Chardonnay variety.","AOC Monthélie vineyard history","Located in the heart of Burgundy's vineyards, in the Côte de Beaune, the Monthélie AOC covers an area of 130 hectares, of which 110 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of vines for red wine and 18 hectares for white wine. Monthélie, a village nestled between Volnay and Meursault, has two main appellations: Monthélie and Monthélie Premier Cru.","Monthélie's terroir","The soils in Monthélie's vineyards are predominantly white with little limestone, and are used mainly to produce red wines. The vines enjoy south and southeast exposure, at an altitude of around 300 meters. Burgundy's temperate climate favors the harmonious development of grape varieties. The Monthélie AOC wine-growing area, though modest at 130 hectares, is home to a variety of estates of varying sizes. Monthélie wines are marketed far beyond the region's borders.","Wine profileMonthélie","Pinot Noir makes up the bulk of Monthélie AOC wine production. This demanding grape requires meticulous attention to reach maturity. The grapes are harvested manually and mechanically, then aged in barrels for 12 to 24 months. Monthélie white wines are also produced using manual and mechanical methods. The Monthélie vineyard produces around 5,000 hectolitres annually, with yields ranging from 50 to 58 hectolitres per hectare for reds and 57 to 64 hectolitres per hectare for whites. Monthelie red is distinguished by its brilliant ruby color and aromas of red and black fruits, such as cherry and blackcurrant, enriched by floral notes of violet and peony, evolving towards nuances of undergrowth, fern and spices with age. Its structure, both firm and velvety, rests on delicate tannins, giving it an elegance often compared to that of Volnay wines. The white Monthelie has a golden color, evoking aromas of white flowers, reinette apple and fresh hazelnut, with a mellow mouth balanced by invigorating acidity. Monthélie wines are ideal with food, the red pairing ideally with meats, particularly poultry and lamb, and should be served at 15°C, while the white is best served at 12°C with fish or cheese. ","Domaine Faiveley is located in the heart of winegrowing Burgundy, between Dijon and Beaune, in Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Faiveley family, who own the estate, have gradually expanded their vineyards and today own parcels in some of Burgundy's finest climats: Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, Mercurey and others. As is often the case in Burgundy, the vineyards are very fragmented, and the average surface area per appellation is only around 1 hectare: the production of each wine is therefore very limited. \r\n \r\n Domaine Faiveley cultivates over 10 hectares of Grands Crus and almost 25 hectares of Premiers Crus. Among these, several climats belong exclusively to the family, such as Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts, Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Ecu,... and the Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru. The utmost care is taken in making these wines, from the vineyard, cultivated with respect and rigor, to the cellar and winery, where vinification and ageing are carried out with the greatest respect for tradition. Domaine Faiveley iswithout question one of the great houses of Burgundy today...","A fairly confidential appellation, Ladoix is nonetheless of very high quality. On the nose, the estate's cuvée presents a good intensity of varied aromas of red fruits and spices mixed with woody scents. After a fairly lively attack, this wine has good volume with a medium tannic structure. A delicate, well-balanced wine!","\"In its fiefdom, the domaine demonstrates its ability to bring out the best in terroirs located in the village appellation. This 2017 displays pleasant, subtle fruity notes enhanced by sweet spices. Dense on the palate, with a hint of austerity on the finish that will develop a patina over time\". Beautiful concentrated juice on the palate, with smoky notes and racy tannins.\" (La Revue du Vin de France - June-July 2019). With its intense ruby color, this Marsannay offers a bouquet of red fruits with hints of prune. On the palate, it reveals fruity notes, well-presented tannins and good aromatic persistence. A sublime wine at an affordable price","\"Redegusted in bottle, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers aromas of sweet berries, black truffle and spice, framed by a discreet woody touch. It's medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a concentrated, rich and youthfully reserved core built around velvety tannins and lively acids.\"","(Wine Advocate 2021)"]}

A propos du domaine :
Disposant de 120 hectares dont 70 en côte chalonnaise, avec l'un des plus beaux chais de la Bourgogne à Nuits-Saint-Georges, avec ses récents agrandissements comme le fermage du domaine Zibetti et la reprise des domaines Dupont-Tisserand et Billaud-Simon, Faiveley devient plus que jamais un ambassadeur incontournable des grands vins de Bourgogne dans le monde. Et l'on se réjouit que cela ne soit pas au détriment de l'exigence en matière de qualité et de style à tous les niveaux d'appellation et de prix. La réflexion sur le travail à la vigne porte ses fruits, les vins de la maison jouent sur la droiture et la précision de l'expression de chaque cuvée, en blanc comme en rouge. La gamme 2017 est encore une fois réussie et cohérente.

A propos du domaine :
Aidé de son directeur technique Jérôme Flous, Erwan Faiveley a pris la suite de son père début 2005 et pratique depuis une révolution discrète dans ce vaste domaine au patrimoine de vignes exceptionnel, qui s’est agrandi au cours des dernières années. Le style des vins a subtilement évolué : solidement bâtis autour d’une matière dense et moins austère que par le passé, ils affirment un fruit franc à l'expression désormais plus précoce. Si les boisés étaient autrefois un peu verts, ils prennent aujourd’hui des saveurs toastées. De meilleures maturités, les raisins depuis quelques millésimes tendent toutefois à mieux s’intégrer. L'ensemble des vins, particulièrement en rouge, a beaucoup progressé. Une spectaculaire nouvelle cuverie a été utilisée pour la première fois pour la vendange 2018. Ce domaine a su faire progresser ses vins avec justesse et intelligence.
