"Bright, clear gold. Pierrefolle, located on the outskirts of the Clos, at an altitude of over 500m, on granite, releases energy and power in our glasses. Concentrated, ripe, this is a wine for the ages, skilfully matured without excessive wood, it offers a precise, complex and firm juice that will ensure its ageing potential. " (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2023 - RVF) Lots of personality for this insider's wine.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 94/ 100
About the wine:
It comes from vines planted on silt and granite soil, with a broad, horizontal, compact and intense palate. This is a wine with great potential, built for laying down.

About the domain :
Claire and Fabio Gazeau-Montrasi took over this historic family estate in 1995. Certified organic since 2005, it consists mainly of Chardonnay vines in Fuissé and a parcel in Saint-Amour. All the estate's whites are aged for almost two years, giving them a natural patina, enriching them and enhancing their complexity. Due to exposure and altitude, the Pouilly-Fuissé wines have not been classified as Premier Crus, but the enlightened wine-lover will not care. The quality of the latest wines on offer puts the domaine on the verge of a second star!
