"From vines that produced tiny berries, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Cras opens in the glass with scents of crisp yellow apple, citrus oil, hazelnut, almond and mint. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acidity and a long, saline finish." (Wine Advocate 2021)

Domaine Thibert
Pouilly-Fuissé
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
This large estate in Fuissé now covers 30 hectares, with a wide range of terroirs and great potential for future premier crus. Sandrine and her brother Christophe manage the estate, and Christophe meticulously oversees the wines, constantly challenging himself. His decision to offer as many of the wines as possible with a difference in vintage is to be commended. Vinification by parcel is intelligently carried out in magnificent, modern, perfectly adapted facilities. The short-term objective is to convert the entire estate to organic production. This is unquestionably a benchmark domaine in the Mâconnais, where you'll find wines for laying down, always in a very taut, straightforward style.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Descended from an 8-generation winegrowing dynasty, Andrée and René Thibert created their own estate in 1967, covering 2.5 ha. Today, their children Sandrine and Christophe are co-managers of a 20 ha vineyard. A (very) safe bet in the Mâconnais.

Wine rated (guide 2021) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Harvested in Fuissé, Les Cras, with its tight chewiness and mineral tension, offers finesse and straightforwardness, a wine made to keep for five to ten years.
About the domain :
Created in 1967, the estate covers almost 30 hectares in the Pouilly, Mâcon-Fuissé, Mâcon-Prissé, Mâcon-Verzé and Saint-Véran appellations. It is run as a family business by Christophe Thibert and his sister Sandrine, in collaboration with the methodical Fabien Duperray (see Domaine Jules Desjourneys, in Beaujolais). The domaine is going from strength to strength. Most of the range reflects the precision of maturation and mastery of ageing, as well as great ageing potential, as the latest vintages prove. We're close to a second star.
