Robert Parker
"Aged in wood, with only 10% new oak, this Saint-Véran offers a broad, concentrated juice that is both pure and balanced. The wine's flesh is tender but not lacking in vivacity. A 2015 ready to drink. Perfect for the table" (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2019 - RVF) An ambitious, dynamic bottle, made for ageing. A high-flying cuvée.

Nose
On the nose, this wine displays the perfect marriage between the woodiness of the ageing process and the aromas of the grape variety, blending pear and lemon.

Crisp and crunchy, with a freshness that stimulates the taste buds. A powerful attack opens onto a dense palate, well-balanced by a very fine saline minerality. The elegant, structured finish lends an extra touch of nobility to this great Saint-Véran.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated (2018 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domain rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Good balance between barrel and fruit, delicate. A subtle blend.
About the domain :
This large estate in Fuissé now extends to 30 hectares, comprising a wide range of terroirs, with great potential for future premier crus. Sandrine and her brother Christophe manage the estate, and Christophe meticulously oversees the wines, constantly challenging himself. His decision to offer as many of the wines as possible with a difference in vintage is to be commended. Vinification by parcel is intelligently carried out in magnificent, modern, perfectly adapted facilities. The short-term objective is to convert the entire estate to organic production. This is unquestionably a benchmark domaine in the Mâconnais, where you'll find wines for laying down, always in a very taut, straightforward style.

About the domain :
Descended from an 8-generation winegrowing dynasty, Andrée and René Thibert created their own estate in 1967, covering 2.5 ha. Today, their children Sandrine and Christophe are co-managers of a 20 ha vineyard. A (very) safe bet in the Mâconnais.

About the wine:
Saint Véran Bois de Fée 2015 has a touch of reduction on the nose that was difficult to get around. The palate is well balanced with a fine base of acidity. There's an air of joie-de-vivre about this Saint-Véran, with intense notes of white peach and yellow plum towards the lively finish. It's not the most complex Saint-Véran, but you'll find it delicious!

Wine rated (2019 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Aged in wood, with only 10% new oak, this Saint-Véran offers a broad, concentrated juice that is both pure and balanced. The wine's flesh is tender but not lacking in vivacity. A ready-to-drink 2015. Perfect for the dinner table!
About the domain :
Created in 1967, the estate covers almost 30 hectares in the Pouilly, Mâcon-Fuissé, Mâcon-Prissé, Mâcon-Verzé and Saint-Véran appellations. It is run as a family business by Christophe Thibert and his sister Sandrine, in collaboration with the methodical Fabien Duperray (see Domain Jules Desjourneys, in Beaujolais). The domaine is going from strength to strength. The majority of the range reflects the precision of maturation and mastery of ageing, as well as great ageing potential, as the latest vintages prove. We're close to a second star.
