Robert Parker
"A superb wine from Chris Carpenter and the Kendall-Jackson family, this blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot, sourced mainly from the Jackson family's mountain vineyards, is fabulous. Cardinale 2013 has a dense purple color. A sweet kiss of crème de cassis as well as licorice, blackberry and coffee is found in this full-bodied, rather intense and sublime Cabernet. It should drink well for at least 25 years. It was aged in around 91% new French oak barrels for 18-20 months before bottling. It's certainly one of the finest Cardinales we've ever tasted.
