Terre de Vins
"The very expression of Sézannais terroir".
"This beautiful Chardonnay from the Sézannais region tastes extremely well, with a kind of culmination. The Collet brothers' trio is now reaping the rewards of years of soil work, plot selection and rigorous winemaking and ageing (17% in barrel and 17% in oak foudres). This is a full-bodied Champagne with lovely ripe, full-bodied Chardonnay fruit and a condensed, clean, lively structure. Beautifully presented, excellent value for money. A textbook case." Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine noté Sélectionné (An estate or house that has won us over with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the domain :
In the heart of the Côte de Sézanne, brothers Vincent, Thomas and Florent Collet have given new impetus to the family domaine since the turn of the century, on the 15 parcels around Fontaine-Denis. The cuvées are of good quality, and the Anthime range, which claims to be aged in wood, stands out from the rest.

About the wine:
This brut owes everything to Chardonnay, a grape variety widely grown in the Sézannais region. Its discreet, slightly evolved nose of citrus fruit and minerality, its unctuous, fresh palate, with good length and just the right amount of citrus fruit and white fruit, leave us with the memory of a well-crafted Champagne.
About the domain :
In the early 20th century, the Collet family sold their grapes to the wine trade. René Collet, a cooperative member, launched his champagne in 1973. His 3 sons, Thomas, Vincent and Florent, set up between 2001 and 2011, and decided to produce their own cuvées. They have 5 hectares of vines in the Sézannais region.

Rated 14.5/20 (Good)
Rated area (2021 guide) Recommended (Recommended)
About the wine:
This 100% Chardonnay has a light lemon hue and a flowery, fruity, mineral nose. The mousse is smooth with fine bubbles. The palate expresses a certain maturity without overripeness, with integrated wood, nut and mango flavors, minerality and salinity. This champagne will be a good companion for a starter or a rich aperitif.
About the domain :
The story of Domaine Collet is a beautiful one: born into a modest family of winemaker-farmers from Fontaine-Denis, it was quite simply in 1973 that René Collet decided to create his own brand. With the help of a large cooperative, he developed the estate through the acquisition and planting of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines, ideally located in the Fontaine-Denis area. The early 2000s brought changes: two of Mr. Collet's three sons joined the company, and a new winery and barrel cellar were built.
