"Ambonnay La Grande Ruelle 2004 is a small parcel selection that changes style with marked notes of mocha, gingerbread (vinification under wood), with a slightly "rancid" finish. A vinous, complex champagne that needs air, ideal with white meats and truffles. (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2013 - RVF)

Estate rated (2018 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Xavier Gonet has set up on his own in Bisseuil, a premier cru in the Marne valley, with his wife Julie, née Médeville, from Château Gilette in Sauternes. They have an original range of vines at their disposal: the family's contribution of great Chardonnays from Mesnil-sur-Oger (Louvière, Champ d'Alouette), good Pinot Meunier vintages (Mareuil) and Pinot Noir (Ambonnay and Bisseuil). Malolactic fermentation is blocked to ensure the wine's liveliness when aged. An ever-increasing proportion of clear wines are fermented in barrels, which enhances the finesse of the bubbles. We appreciate the perfect homogeneity of a personal range, just reward for synchronized efforts in viticulture and vinification.
