The La Vigie group (Champagne Henriot) has been headed by Gilles de Larouzière since 2015. Henriot, certified HVE and soon VDC, has set itself the goal of asserting the potential of its vineyards: pure, fleshy transparency of luminous Chardonnay wines from great terroirs. Alice Tétienne is continuing this work, accentuating the environmental values of her terroirs, as well as her research into winemaking methods that respect them. The range tasted is typified by its substance and its birthplace. Champagnes of time, the thread and fabric of each cuvée seem destined for fusion. We can only express our admiration for the level reached by the house.

Established in the region as cloth and wine merchants in the 17th century, the Henriots began to take an interest in champagne in the following century. The brand dates back to 1808, launched by a Champagne widow, Apolline Henriot. Remaining independent, the house grew rapidly with Joseph Henriot, who passed away in 2015; it expanded into Burgundy (Bouchard Père et Fils, William Fèvre), Beaujolais (Villa Ponciago) and as far afield as Oregon. Now presided over by Gilles de Larouzière-Henriot and managed by Richard Moreau, in 2020 it entrusted the keys to the cellar to Alice Tétienne, from Champagne Krug. Chardonnay is very present in Henriot champagnes.

Henriot is one of the few Champagne houses to have remained independent, since its foundation by Appoline Henriot in Reims in 1808. The company rapidly expanded internationally, notably in Austria and Holland. Despite the upheavals facing the Champagne region (phylloxera, the 14-18 war, the fall of the tsars in Russia, prohibition in the United States, etc.), Henriot held firm and remained a family business. Under the impetus of Joseph Henriot at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, the company grew in importance, thanks in particular to well thought-out diversification. Henriot acquired Bouchard Père et Fils in Beaune, William Fèvre in Chablis, and Villa Ponciago in Fleurie.
