Champagne Moët & Chandon

Champagne Moët & Chandon
The emblematic house Moët & Chandon owes its name to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the Épernay estates many times and awarded the Légion d'Honneur to Jean-Rémi Moët. Legend has it that Napoleon and his troops invented the tradition of sabering bottles of Moët champagne to celebrate a victory. The innovative founders, Claude Moët and his grandson Jean-Rémy, transformed a prestigious regional wine into Europe's most sought-after. They then set out to conquer international markets.

The Moët & Chandon vineyard is the largest in Champagne, with 1,150 hectares of vines, 50% of which are classified as Grand Cru and 25% as Premier Cru. The richness and abundance of the 3 dominant grape varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, enable us to select only the very best.

Moët & Chandon 's unique historical know-how combines with cutting-edge technology to create a harmonious, internationally recognized balance of champagnes. The style is singular: bright fruitiness, a savory palate and elegant maturity, the result of a slow, gradual progression from vineyard to cellar.
