Wine rated (guide 2024) 90/100
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
Under the impetus of its brilliant cellar master Benoît Gouez, Moët has progressed without renouncing its fundamentals: fruitiness, balance, fair accessibility, captivating ageing potential, with a fresh style in search of precision. The cuvées are free of dosage, in harmony with advances in viticulture and cutting-edge technical research. The wines take on an extra dimension. The house's spearheads, Impérial and Rosé-Impérial, are champagnes of impressive aromatic precision and finesse. The blends are meticulous. The vintages display a distinctive stylistic imprint, like the latest 2013, a remarkably successful atypical vintage. The "grande maison" is in fine form.

About the wine:
This edition marks the company's 280th anniversary. Its signature cuvée blends the three Champagne grape varieties (including 30-40% Chardonnay), from over 200 crus and many years (20-30% reserve wines). It opens with butter and ripe white fruit, before revealing a round, fruity palate of flattering suppleness, with a candied finish.
About the domain :
One of the oldest Champagne houses, founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a vineyard owner. In the early 19th century, his grandson Jean-Rémy, with the help of his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles, gave the company an international dimension. Their heirs continued the success of the brand, which has become the best-known and best-selling in the world. Today, Moët et Chandon, with 1,190 ha of vines in 234 crus (50% of which are grand cru) and 28 km of cellars, continues its expansion within the powerful LVMH group. Its ambitions were realized in 2012 with the inauguration of a vast contemporary-style winery on the Mont Aigu site in Oiry, at the foot of the Côte des Blancs, in addition to its historic facilities in Épernay. Benoît Gouez has been cellar master since 2005.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
LVMH is the most powerful player in the Champagne region, both in terms of the size of its vineyards (around 1,200 hectares, only a quarter of its needs!) and the distribution of its brands (Moët, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Krug, Mercier). Within this galaxy, Moët is the world's best-selling champagne, with its flagship brut Impérial accounting for 85% of production. Under the leadership of excellent cellar master Benoît Gouez, Moët is impressively consistent in terms of volumes produced. These creamy wines, with their toasty, lemony notes, reassure consumers the world over. Alongside the Brut Impérial, Moët delivers Grand Vintage wines that gain in definition and depth vintage after vintage.

About the wine:
This wine presents aromas of apricot, grapefruit, pear and short crust. Some walnuts too. Medium-bodied, with soft bubbles and savory notes of walnut and pie crust on the finish. Blend of pinot noir, meunier and chardonnay. 24 months on lees. Tasted from a magnum bottle. Drink now

About the wine:
Golden straw in color, Champagne Imperial Brut is creamy and decadent, with aromas of crème brûlée, candied citrus and baked golden apple. Juicy and ripe, it fills the palate with sweet fruits such as pear compote and quince, and reveals a supple texture and mellow mousse. It's easy to drink, with a touch of fruity sweetness that lingers on the finish. Perfect for aperitifs over the next few years. Drink between 2023 and 2026.
