Hachette
"Superb discovery!"
"All three Champagne grape varieties (40% Chardonnay and as much Pinot Noir) contribute to this brut based on the 2018 harvest, which delighted our tasters. Its strengths? A complex palette, blending citrus fruits with more mature, evolved nuances (candied fruits, brioche, almonds, mirabelle plums...), a clean, harmonious and long palate, superb freshness." (Le Guide Hachette 2024). The excellence of Maison Nathalie Sélèque!

About the wine:
Champagne's three grape varieties (40% Chardonnay and as much Pinot Noir) contribute to this brut based on the 2018 harvest, which delighted our tasters. Its strengths? A complex palette, blending citrus fruit with more mature, evolved nuances (candied fruit, brioche, almond, mirabelle plum...), a clean, harmonious and long palate, superb freshness.
About the domain :
Daughter of Jean Sélèque, a Pierry harvester who passed away in 2015, Nathalie Sélèque has managed the family estate since 2008. In 2020, she launched her own label, while retaining the one bearing her father's name. The cuvées are produced by Cogevi, the oldest Champagne cooperative, based in Aÿ and Oger.

A little too expensive for the pleasure, in my opinion.

An elegant wine with no flaws. The almond is (too) present. A lively, balanced wine, but not to my taste.

Correct, but far from Favorite in the Hachette guide. The bubbles are not very well integrated and tend to invade the mouth. The wine is pleasant but lacks precision and balance for my taste.
