Nicolas Mariotti-Bindi
Every achievement begins with a dream. The history of this estate is living proof. Originally destined for a career as a lawyer, Nicolas Mariotti Bindi after studying law in Paris, realizes that his life isn't there. He wanted to be a winemaker. He decided to return to Corsica to live out his passion for wine. First trained on the mainland in Beaujolais, then on his own land at Domaine Leccia, Nicolas produced his first vintage in 2007. With passion and above all perseverance, the Nicolas Mariotti-Bindi estate set up in 2015 in Cantina di Torra in Oletta. Organically farmed, the 15-hectare estate is worked on a parcel-by-parcel basis to produce singular wines faithful to their terroir. Vinification is natural, with only limited doses of SO² used, as indicated on the label. The vines are worked with the strictest respect for the soil, and ploughing is limited to the essentials to allow the soil to regenerate in winter and prevent any form of erosion. The grapes are harvested by hand and packaged in 500-l boxes to protect them from crushing.

4 terroirs make up the vineyards of the Nicolas Mariotti-Bindi estate.
Mursuglia: East-facing clay-limestone terroir, composed of 1 ha of Niellucciu and 1 ha of Vermentinu from massal selections planted at high density (7,600 vines/ha). Vines planted in 2009.
Porcellese: a terroir of ancient alluvium and rolled pebbles, this 3.5-hectare plot was planted in 1966 with Niellucciu. Yields are low, and the wines produced from these old vines are concentrated.
Lumiu: south-facing clay-limestone terroir, composed of 2ha of Vermentinu from clonal selections planted at high density (7,600 vines/ha).
Carcu: 7.5 ha of clay-limestone hillside parcels facing north-east, in conversion to organic farming since 2016.

Fleshy and velvety, off the beaten track, Nicolas Mariotti-Bindi 's wines are straightforward and singular, reflecting the integrity and convictions of this highly talented winemaker.
