Cataluna
Cataluna is a denomination of origin from the autonomous region of Catalonia, Spain. It is the region's historic denomination, covering some 330 municipalities, alongside ten other appellations, including the famous DO Cava. The DO CatalunaLike other appellations, it allows a very wide range of grape varieties, some of which are indigenous.

The region of Catalonia, with its highly contrasting topography, enjoys a Mediterranean climate, but with great disparities that enable the production of wines with very different characters.

DO Cataluna produces both red and white wines. DO Cataluna red wines are often made from Grenache, Monastrelle and Syrah grapes, but also from Merlot, Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon. White wines mainly feature Grenache Blanc, Muscadelle, Maccabeu and sometimes Chardonnay. DO Cataluna wines are generally fruity and harmonious, very typical of their terroir.

A typically Catalan blend of Grenache and Xarello, Macizo reveals aromas of fennel and white fruit, enhanced by a spicy touch from ageing. The palate is fine and mineral, with a complex, flavorful structure.
