Alvaro Palacios
After studying oenology in Bordeaux, Alvaro Palacios set up his own estate in 1989 at Gratallops, in the heart of the Priorat region, which was not very popular at the time due to its hostile topography.

The dynamism ofAlvaro Palacios, a winemaker's son, has made his wines and the Priorat region famous thanks to multiple awards. His L'Ermita Velles Vinyes is one of the 5 most expensive wines in Spain.

"Finca Dofi 2014 is a blend of around 94% Grenache and 6% Carignan from a parcel in Gratallops called Finca Dofi. [...] It's terribly vibrant, with silkiness and purity, concise but at the same time ripe. The wood is very coated and there's none of the volatility some associate with Priorat; the perfumes are clearly reminiscent of older Dofi vintages, albeit with a much rounder texture. Once again, acidity provides punch and depth. The finish is tasty and very mineral. It resembles the 2013. A superb vintage of Dofi. Elegance in the bottle.
