Bodega Pago de los Capellanes

In the 1980s, the Rodero-Villa family took over the Bodega Pago de los Capellanes estate in the municipality of Pedrosa de Duero, in the heart of one of the best regions of the DO Ribeira del Duero.

The Bodega Pago de los Capellanes vineyard is located mainly in the province of Burgos and now covers around 100 hectares planted mainly with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo de la Ribera del Duero), but also Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soils are mainly clay-limestone and not very fertile, allowing the best possible expression of the grape varieties planted and forcing the vines to develop their roots very deep into the ground. Like Vega Sicilia, Bodega Pago de los Capellanes keeps all its DO Ribeira del Duero wines in its cellars until they are ready to be drunk when they are released for sale. The great wines of Bodega Pago de los Capellanes are noble, distinguished, sumptuous, and majestic. They are worthy of our Bordeaux grands crus classés.
