Bodega Pago de los Capellanes
In the 1980s, the Rodero-Villa family took over the Bodega Pago de los Capellanes estate in Pedrosa de Duero, right in the heart of one of the best DO Ribeira del Duero regions.

The Bodega Pago de los Capellanes vineyard is located mainly in the province of Burgos, and now covers some 100 hectares planted mainly with Tinto Fino (Ribera del Duero Tempranillo), but also with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone and not very fertile, allowing the best possible expression of the grape varieties planted and forcing the vines to develop their roots deep down. Like Vega Sicilia, Bodega Pago de los Capellanes keeps all its DO Ribeira del Duero wines in its cellars until they are ready to be drunk on the market. The great wines of Bodega Pago de los Capellanes are noble, racy, sumptuous and majestic. They are worthy of our Bordeaux grands crus classés.

This young Ribera Del Duero is an enchanting, distinctive wine. Dominated by Tempranillo grapes, it is fresh and typical, fruity, with a lively, deep, seductive red color. An ideal companion for a good piece of beef, for example.

Bodegas Pago de Los Capellanes - El Picon 2004

Notes : Robert Parker 97/100, RVF 17/20
"The El Picón 2004 separate parcel cuvée is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, with a very open nose of pinewood, cinnamon, roasted red fruit and minerality, and a dense, velvety palate of intense fruit and coated tannins." (RVF Nº 551 - May 2011)

Bodegas Pago de Los Capellanes - Reserva 2006

Notes : Robert Parker 91/100, Guia Penin 92/100, RVF 16/20
"The 2006 Reserva has a beautiful expression, with a liquorice nose, roasted black fruits, vanilla, a velvety, aromatic, well-smoothed palate, fresh and aromatic tannins, without dryness." (RVF Nº 551 - May 2011)

Notes : Guia Penin 91/100, Robert Parker 90/100
"The Crianza 2007 offers an expressive perfume of cedar, pencil lead, mineral, violets and black cherries. Elegant on the palate, with savory aromas and a fruity finish. It can improve further in 1 or 2 years, and will drink well through 2019." (Robert Parker - June 2010)
