Rated (guide 2022) 91/100 (Wonderful wine)

About the wine:

The 2017 Reserva Selección de la Familia comes from a very difficult vintage, and the wine made from Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon shows high ripeness at 14.5% alcohol (it was a warm year after the crop was decimated by frost). It is quite oaky, with notes of incense and cigar ash mixed with ripe fruit and some herbs after spending 20 months in French and American oak barrels. Traditional with a touch of originality and herbaceousness.

About the wine:

Racy red plums, mineral and red berries on the nose, followed by an elegant, medium-bodied palate with silky, juicy tannins. A reserved, nuanced Rioja with a long finish. Drink now.
