Robert Parker

"Sensational! From vines planted in 1915, Garnacha Negra 2013 is produced in the village of Batea. Eric Solomon, in partnership with Spanish winemaker Nuria Altés, makes this remarkable wine in a cold, high-altitude climate where Grenache lends accents of Pinot Noir. Abundant notes of red cherry, blackcurrant and hints of undergrowth and damp earth are followed by a medium-bodied palate, with fantastic fruit intensity and the richness of old vines. The wine also possesses impressive freshness, vitality and exuberance. Drink over the next two years. (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)
