Tokaj-Hetszölö Estate
The estate Tokaj-Hetszölö is ideally situated on the southern slopes of Mount Tokaj, in a wine-growing region that has been cultivated since the 15th century. Since 1722, this 55-hectare estate belonging to the Austro-Hungarian Empire has been classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé, thanks in particular to the vineyard's location on an exceptional terroir: soil of volcanic rock, full southern exposure benefiting from optimal sunshine, proximity to the Tisza and Bodrog rivers favoring the mists necessary for the formation of botrytis cinerea, known as "noble rot", essential for the production of Tokaj's famous sweet wines. Particular care is taken in the winemaking process Tokaj-HétszölöHand-harvested, organic (certified in 2009), handcrafted barrels from the finest oak trees in the Zemplén mountains.
Today, the Tokaj-Hetszölö estate belongs to the owner of Château Cos d'Estournel, the famous Saint-Estèphe château.
