"The 2019 Barolo Rocche Dell'Annunziata is spectacular. Aged for two years in 25 hectoliter Slavonian casks, it's bursting with aromas of licorice, raspberry liqueur, pressed roses and crushed stones. Full-bodied, with a weightless feel, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity, it has a continuous arc through the mid-palate, with no rough edges, and is packed with ripe red cherries, cedar, black tea and dried flowers." About the wine:
This stunning wine opens with a mix of tart red and blue berries, rose and sweet, savory spices that evolve into more savory, earthy notes. The palate is refined, framing the cherry sip with flavors of tobacco and wild herbs almost in unison. The finish is sublime, with vibrant acidity and fine tannins that will give this wine life for years to come.

About the wine:
Lots of dried flowers give it a fragrant character, along with berries and citrus. Also hibiscus water. Full-bodied and chewy, with plenty of tannin and lively acidity. Subtle plum and strawberry character. Muscular and well-shaped. Needs time. Try after 2028.
