Domaine Stéphane Tissot
Stéphane Tissot works at Domaine André et Mireille Tissot, which he took over in 1990. Bubbling with ideas, he began converting the 40-hectare estate to organic viticulture in 1999, and today the entire vineyard is cultivated biodynamically. Domaine Stéphane Tissot has become a benchmark for Jura wines, particularly in the Arbois, Arbois vin jaune, Côtes du Jura and Château-Chalon appellations.

In the early 1990s, after trips to Australia and South Africa, enormous efforts were made in the cellar to gain in fruit, substance and complexity. At Domaine André et Mireille Tissot, Stéphane Tissot has instilled the energy needed to produce precise Jura wines of great finesse, respecting the fruit, constituting a complete and coherent range of wines.

"A basket of fruit... DD is juicy, sapid, greedy". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2020 - RVF) This ruby-red Arbois has a complex, ripe, very fruity nose. The sulphur-free vinification from which it is made is marked but very precise. On the palate, there's plenty of fruit, spice and good substance, with tannins that are still a little firm but unctuous... A very successful bottle!

(2011 vintage notes)

Powerful, complex and beautifully fruity, En Spois expresses itself with scents of nuts, spices and a peaty touch that gives it a great personality. A yellow wine with an almost atypical smoothness and remarkable length, a must-have if you want to enjoy it with an old Comté cheese, for example!

Spirale is a rich, luscious liquoreux from several months of passerillage, opening with aromas of quince, dried apricot and honey. It's a very dense, concentrated wine, with beautiful fruit that leaves a remarkable freshness on the palate. A rare wine to discover!

Les Graviers is an airy white, with a pleasant Burgundian character. A very fruity, mineral Arbois, with toasty, floral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is concentrated, mineral and full-bodied. An astonishing wine in more ways than one!

Trousseau Singulier comes from the estate's finest Trousseau vines. Old, low-yielding vines where trousseau, a typical Jura grape variety, gives us this beautiful, pleasurable wine.

Château-Châlon 2011 is a complex, powerful and very fine yellow wine. The Lias terroir brings freshness, an almost lemony minerality and remarkable finesse. The oxidation is very subtle for a highly concentrated wine. A bottle to discover without delay!

"La Vasée goes for marine flavors (seaweed, samphire) and an uncommon nervousness of sap, inhabited by the elegant, chiseled profile of the vintage: we dream of finding it again in 10 to 15 years." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF)

With only 3500 bottles produced, this vintage of Cuvée Les Bruyères is intense and open, with lovely vegetal notes. A fine example of Arbois, finely spiced, fruity, concentrated and structured, with a beautiful bitterness on the finish... A lovely expression of Chardonnay!

"The sun at its zenith warms the clays of this south-facing terroir, with its generous character. The yellows are luminous, deep, dense and concentrated, with astonishing minerality and finesse". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2014). A powerful, complex yellow wine, with aromas of nuts, spices (curry) and smoky notes... A must from Maison Tissot!

"Poulsard vieilles vignes 2011, vinified without sulfur, will delight with its lively, unvarnished fruit and subtle floral freshness." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2013 - RVF). This Vieilles Vignes shines with its lively, unctuous mouthfeel, with tannins that are still present but very fine.

"Sumptuous texture for this yellow En Spois wine, with a generous nose of cereals, green walnuts and fresh butter. The palate offers the comfort of the greatest meursaults, and the work on texture is simply sumptuous. A great yellow, on a par with the greatest Châteaux-Chalon". Stéphane Tissot's Côtes du Jura En Barberon is an immediately seductive wine, firstly for its spicy, smoky nose (typical of clay soils) with lots of fruit and lovely minerality, then for its smooth, long finish with good acidity. A very fine bottle!

Domaine Stéphane Tissot - Le Clos Tour de Curon 2007

Note : Bettane & Desseauve 17,5/20, RVF 17/20
The Clos de Tour de Curon is made up of a gently sloping plateau facing due south and two steeply sloping terraces facing southwest, an exceptional terroir! "Ripe, spicy nose with a hint of citrus peel, dense on the palate with fleshiness. Powerful, great ageing potential. (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2011 - Bettane & Desseauve)

Domaine Stéphane Tissot - Spirale 2006

Notes : Gault Millau 18/20, RVF 17,5/20
Cuvée Spirale is a partially fermented grape must made from raisined grapes. Produced like a vin de paille, it comes from a selection of several parcels of old vines. A blend of savagnin, poulsard and chardonnay. This very dense, rich wine with a beautiful fruitiness leaves a lovely freshness on the palate, to be drunk on its own or with desserts...
