New Favorite for this beautifully crafted 2020 vintage. Juggling between power and sweetness, the Obriers open up on a fresh, planty, rich palate thanks to a concentrated, yet ripe, melted and silky texture that envelops a consistent juice featuring an incredible cocktail of Morello cherries, sweet red fruits, sweet spices and dried hay, complemented by a few delicately smoky, licorice and animal touches. Equally perfumed, the finish lacks a little acidity. The fatty character of this cuvée and its abundant aromatic expression echo tasty, spicy southern dishes, such as small Lozère lamb chops with golden bbq herbs or a hearty cocotte of gardianne de taureau bull with white Camargue rice. Score = 4.1.
