Château La Voulte-Gasparets

Château La Voulte-Gasparets is located in the heart of the Corbières appellation in the Languedoc region. Today, Château La Voulte-Gasparets is in the hands of the Reverdy family, and is run by Patrick and his son Laurent, who are the driving force behind the expression of the Carignan grape variety (of which the vineyard boasts some of the oldest vines). The domaine's know-how and viticultural methods place its wines at the very pinnacle of the appellation.

The estate's vineyards are planted on one of the best terroirs in the Corbières, if not the best, and it's the one that Château la Voulte-Gasparets had the foresight to choose from the outset. In fact, its properties had already been distinguished from the outset. For the production of its red and rosé wines, Château la Voulte-Gasparets has happily remained faithful to Carignan (50%), the traditional indigenous grape variety which provides the backbone and originality of the wine, and whose harshness is so well corrected by Grenache (25%), another traditional grape variety, these two grape varieties providing the essential characteristic of the Corbières cru, to which are added relatively recently imported grape varieties, Mourvèdre (15%) and Syrah (10%). Special varieties are also used to make white wines: Rolle (50%), Grenache (40%) and Maccabeu (10%). These are all grape varieties that make up the Corbières AOC, obtained in 1985, to which the Boutenac appellation has recently been added, and of which Château la Voulte-Gasparets is one of the flagships.
