1*Étoile

Hachette

(2014 vintage notes)

A red wine bursting with deliciousness thanks to its notes of red fruit, cherry and an air of garrigue (rosemary, juniper...). This blend of syrah, grenache and carignan is juicy on the palate, with a lively, persistent attack. Finally, the fine tannins prolong the delicate finish.

About the domain :

Estelle, Pierre and their sons Antoine and Martin carry on the family tradition in the footsteps of Jean Clavel. Their 30-hectare vineyard (certified organic with a biodynamic approach) covers three terroirs: Pic Saint-Loup, Grés de Montpellier and La Méjanelle. A benchmark in Languedoc viticulture. The nails on the labels are a reminder that the Clavels used to make them before devoting themselves entirely to the vine.

Note and review by M. PATRICE K. Published on 05/08/2018

Very astringent; bitter tannins. Very poor Q/Price ratio. Impossible to appreciate this wine. It's a pity not to have the advice to wait for a wine (if this one is to be waited for???) All the wines on offer are to be drunk "from today". This means nothing, and is not a matter of taste. Some wines can be enjoyed young, others not. Such is the case with this undrinkable wine.
