"The Grande Cuvée 2012 is a wine whose white peach and citrus fruit, tonic and fresh, can be enjoyed now." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015). This white expresses a toasty, buttery note on the first nose. After swirling, aromas of exotic fruits (mango) and citrus (yuzzu, orange blossom) emerge. A wine with a fresh attack, then fruity, round and long, an elegant, refined and fresh wine...

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
The grande cuvée is also making progress in white. Its ageing makes it heavier, but after a little ageing, it will be tasty.
About the domain :
After Bernard Durand, who accompanied the Pic Saint-Loup's conversion from sheep-dominated polyculture to its recognition as a quality wine-growing zone, Régis Valentin, his nephew, has taken over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this is an estate to seek out for its powerful yet tasty Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, its Clos des Combes and its Grande Cuvée. The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious, and the rosé is consistently delicious.
Guide Hachette des vins

About the wine:
Régis Valentin, oenologist and cellar master, took over this family estate, founded in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families, in 2001. He produces wines on 73ha of beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay.
La Grande Cuvée 2012 is a wine whose white peach and citrus fruit flavors are tonic and fresh.
About the domain :
Régis Valentin, oenologist and cellar master, took over the estate created in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families in 2001. He produces wines from 80 ha of vines (in organic conversion since 2019) occupying a beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay. A sure bet in the Languedoc.

this wine is at the peak of its maturity at the moment; good concentration, good length and persistence; slight lack of finesse but very good value for money. Excellent with spider crab and sole with turmeric and crème fraiche.
