Coteaux du Languedoc
The Coteaux du Languedoc appellation is a regional appellation which, since the decree of April 30, 2007, has been extended to all the AOCs of Languedoc and Roussillon under the single name of Languedoc. The diversity of Languedoc terroirs and the typicality of its wines have led to the creation of a hierarchy of Coteaux du Languedoc wines. Within the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation, we can distinguish the sub-regional appellations of Saint-Chinian, Faugères and Clairette du Languedoc, recognized as AOCs with their own specific decree. The addition of the communes of origin completes this hierarchy: Cabrières, La Méjanelle, Montpeyroux, Picpoul de Pinet, Quatourze, St-Christol, St-Drézéry, St Georges d'Orques, St Saturnin and Vérargues.

The Coteaux du Languedoc appellation covers 3 départements: Aude, Hérault and Gard, with 22,000 hectares of planted vines. The geographical production area covers 168 communes stretching along the Mediterranean coast, from Narbonne in the west to the edge of the Camargue in the east, and resting on the foothills of the Montagne Noire and the Cévennes. The originality of this appellation lies in the diversity of its terroirs.

Côteaux du Languedoc wines can be red, rosé or white. Because of the appellation's diversity, the authorized grape varieties make up a mosaic: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (50% minimum) alongside Cinsault and Carignan for red and rosé wines, Grenache, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Piquepoul, Roussanne, Marsanne and Rolle (70% minimum) alongside Carignan, Terret, Ugni, Maccabeu and Viognier for white Côteaux du Languedoc wines. These blends express all the qualities of the Coteaux du Languedoc terroir, thanks in particular to the wines of Mas Cal Demoura, Domaine de Montcalmès, Château Puech-Haut, Domaine Peyre Rose, Domaine de l'Hortus, Château des Aurelles, Domaine d'Aupilhac, Mas Julien and Domaine du Pas de l'Escalette. White, rosé or red, it's a matter of choice. Vintage or not, wine is appreciated differently by different palates. You'll find a wide range of products, including Saint-Saturnin, Saint-Christol and the refined Pic Saint-Loup.

"Hors Norme!"

"In 2009, Marlène N°3 takes time to reveal itself, but develops a lovely peppery persistence. Of the red trio, it's the most immediate. A beautiful evolution that calls for some spices at the table". (Le Guide RVF) The persistence evokes the grandeur of this extraordinary bottle!

"One of the greatest whites in the South of France".

"Aurel 2017 made exclusively from roussanne is impressively full-bodied with endless length, in the style of the very great whites from the northern Rhône Valley. Today, it's an essential reference in the Mediterranean arc." (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve 2023) Produced in less than 3,000 units, this Gem from Languedoc spent at least 20 months in barrel to gain roundness and unparalleled complexity. A rare white wine that easily rivals the great whites of Burgundy or the Northern Rhône.
