"This deep, clean wine has a complex, airy, fresh nose of juniper, laurel, eucalyptus and menthol, followed by warmer scents of sweet spices. Supple on the attack, with aromas of black fruit and toast, the palate is full and rich, reinforced by tannins that are still young and spirited. A wine to look forward to". About the wine:
This deep, clean wine has a complex, airy, fresh nose of juniper, laurel, eucalyptus and menthol, followed by warmer scents of sweet spices. Supple on the attack, with aromas of black fruit and toast, the palate is full and rich, reinforced by tannins that are still young and spirited. Waiting is the order of the day.
About the domain :
Marie Boudal meticulously cultivates her old vines (24 ha organic) of syrah, grenache, carignan and mourvèdre (some of which are over 70 years old) clinging to the steep hillsides of Roquessels, in the Faugères appellation. It has 2 labels: Ch. des Peyregrandes and Dom. Bénézech-Boudal.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
Deep, youthful color. Mediterranean nose, with spices, herbs, stone fruit and condiments. On the palate, a model of controlled power in a racy, aromatic setting. Full-bodied, with coated tannins. A benchmark.

A very fine Faugères to be enjoyed today, with very subtle fig and coffee aromas.
