About the wine:

This cuvée, composed of Carignan, Mourvèdre and the rare Lledoner Pelut, shines with a beautiful ruby hue. After aeration, it opens with notes of black fruit, undergrowth and graphite. The palate is frank and clean, with plenty of freshness. The fruity notes prevail for a long time, carried by a light sparkle and underlined by a saline touch on the finish.

Children of Alsatian winegrowers, Mireille and Pierre Mann were restaurateurs before becoming winegrowers in 2005. First bottles in 2009, first successes. Today, 16 hectares of biodynamic vineyards on the limestone plateau of Leucate and the schist foothills of the Corbières.

About the domain :

Former restaurateurs in Alsace, Pierre and Mireille Mann gave in to the irrepressible urge to become winegrowers, setting up in 2005 in the maritime sector of the Fitou appellation. After three years in a cooperative winery, during which time they converted the vineyard to organic farming, they began production of Mas des Caprices in 2009. Most of the vineyard is located on the Leucate plateau, on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea, in a magnificent, unspoilt environment. A harmonious blend of thirst-quenching and more ambitious cuvées, the wines give pride of place to local grape varieties (carignan and grenache gris), combining ripeness and freshness of fruit. This is an address to discover first, a particularly coherent range, where freedom of tone is combined with precision of flavor.
