Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Les Creisses refers to pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation extends far beyond Saint-Émilion. The Les Brunes cuvée generally plays on power, while the more immediate Les Creisses cuvée explodes with flavor. A truly excellent choice.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/16/2024
An irresistible price-pleasure ratio for a particularly sought-after IGP in Languedoc. A clever combination of red and black fruit flavors, mixed with spices and scents of garrigue. With empyreumatic notes in the background, as well as a delicate hint of cocoa, they blend harmoniously into a tannic structure combining elegance and balance. This exceptional cocktail, enhanced by a fine line of acidity, unfolds a flavorful juice and subtle freshness, with an ultra-silky touch that provides a beautiful sensation of smoothness. Finally, an extra touch of spice pushes the flavors a little further and boosts the aromatic persistence. With its Mediterranean character and Médoc accent, this superb cuvée perfectly complemented a mallard stuffed with foie gras and small winter vegetables roasted in the juice. Rating = 4.7.
