Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Creisses refers to pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation has spread far beyond Saint-Émilion. The cuvée les-brunes is generally powerful, while the more immediate cuvée des creisses explodes with flavor. A truly fine address.

An unbeatable price-pleasure ratio for a particularly sought-after PGI in Languedoc. Concentrated flavors of red and black fruits, mixed with spices and garrigue aromas, with a background of empyreumatic notes and a delicate touch of cocoa, blend harmoniously into a tannic framework combining elegance and balance. This exceptional cocktail, enhanced by a fine line of acidity, unfurls its savory juices and subtle freshness, with a silky-smooth mouthfeel that provides a lovely sensation of suavity. On the finish, there's an extra kick of spice that pushes flavors forward and boosts persistence. With its Mediterranean character and Médoc accent, this young cuvée delighted the hunting friends gathered for the occasion.
