"A cuvée that perfectly embodies the Mediterranean art of living, a beautiful expression of Cinsault".

Old Cinsault is at the heart of this fruity cuvée, supported by Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. An irresistibly rich, unctuous wine. The fruit is sublimated and the terroir is fantastically enhanced by a beautiful freshness. (Wine delivered without capsule).

Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated (guide 2025) 94/100 (Vintage 2022)

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Jean-Baptiste Granier makes one of the most exciting cinsaults, virtuosically cultivating a small dozen hectares since his debut in 2007, propelled by a certain Olivier Jullien. Delicious, floral finish, red fruits, licorice: the similarity of tactile sensations with Burgundy's great Pinot Noirs is obvious. It has all the hallmarks of a great wine, except for the price. The grand cuvée, made from Terrasses-du-Larzac, has not fallen into any of the classic traps of over-ripeness and over-extraction, and is right up there with the best of its kind, so close to equaling them. In just a few years, this white has established itself as one of the region's finest gastronomic wines.

Rated (guide 2024) 91/100 (Vintage 2022)

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

The Vignes Oubliées project began in 2007, when Olivier Jullien and Jean-Baptiste Granier, then an intern at Mas Jullien, decided to vinify parcels of old vines at altitude in the Saint-Privat area for the first time. The vineyards were planted on abandoned schist and sandstone, which produced very fine grapes, but in small quantities, and did not meet the expectations of the local cooperatives. The trial was conclusive, the wine was baptized, and the adventure could continue: Jean-Baptiste will look after these old vines. They are now matured in a natural cave, a restored former oil mill. Expressions have been gently refined, to deliver wines with pure, deep mouthfeel.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 20/07/2024

Despite the difficult conditions in 2023, this natural cuvée has come out on top. Flamboyant, the palate flows with an uninterrupted, savory flow of raspberries and crushed strawberries on a background of lightly peppery notes. The wine is easy-drinking, slippery and full-bodied, while the body is velvety, remarkably fine and pleasantly fresh, backed by well-coated tannins. The dapper finish is galvanized by a penetrating fruitiness. So delicious and easy-drinking that one glass calls for another with honey paprika roast chicken and sautéed sweet potatoes, followed by Céret cherry clafoutis. Score = 4.
