Domaine de Cantaussel
Domaine de Cantaussel has been owned by Claude and Jean-Luc Bohler since 1995. This ancient estate is located on the "petit causse", at medium altitude (300 m), isolated in a garrigue environment, a few kilometers north of Siran, on the western edge of the Hérault department.

Domaine de Cantaussel benefits from a terroir with character: clay-limestone and sandstone soil, stony, dry on the surface, cool at depth, and a topography of small sloping or terraced plots. 2011 marks Domaine de Cantaussel 's transition from integrated to organic farming.

Domaine de Cantaussel wines are made according to simple principles: modern means, traditional methods and above all respect for the grape, the fruit of the earth, the vine and the work of man.

3*Coup de Coeur Hachette

"The estate is on a roll, as witnessed by this 2012, which transports us into an intense, captivating aromatic universe: ripe raspberry and blackcurrant, eucalyptus. Supple on the attack, the palate rises in power on a framework of vanilla and sweet tannins with coconut accents, while remaining marked by the freshness of altitude: a perfect balance. Aged leather, blond tobacco and spices contribute to a rare complexity; the persistence adds to the immediate charm of this bottle while constituting its "capital time"" (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016).

The first vintage to be certified organic, the Vermentino 2014 offers lovely citrus scents, which are echoed on the palate with a little bitterness to great effect on the finish. This fresh, dynamic, well-balanced palate is the result of a selective early-morning harvest. A meticulous process for an elegant wine.

With its garnet-red hue, this relaxed wine, dominated by Carignan and Grenache, opens with a fairly complex nose, revealing aromas of fruit paste, with a mineral note and crisp tannins on the palate. Very fine work at a very attractive price.
