" An enchanting red combining Syrah, Carignan and Grenache, macerated for a very long time in the cellar. The nose, slow to open up, first bears the imprint of the barrel with its roasted and smoky notes, then lets black fruit, garrigue and undergrowth scents unfold. The palate is imposing in its fullness and concentration, perfectly framed by powerful yet remarkably extracted tannins. A long finish of black fruits and spices speaks volumes about the potential of this fine red". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) Great ageing potential!

About the wine:
An enchanting red wine combining Syrah, Carignan and Grenache, macerated for a very long time in the cellar (fifty days). The nose, slow to open up, first bears the imprint of the barrel with its roasted and smoky notes, then lets black fruit, garrigue and undergrowth scents unfold. The palate is imposing in its fullness and concentration, perfectly framed by powerful yet remarkably extracted tannins. A long finish of black fruits and spices speaks volumes about the potential of this fine red. For fans of Stephan Eicher, the singer designed the label.
About the domain :
All that remains of the medieval fortress of the Lords of Oupia are sections of wall, vestiges of the enclosure, and a tower. In 1860, Romain Iché bought the château, which passed to his grandson André in 1970. The latter undertook the renovation of the estate and cellar, making the property a benchmark in the Minervois appellation. André passed away in 2007, leaving his life's work to his daughter Marie-Pierre.

5V for this remarkable Minervois after opening a second bottle, for its quality and very, very, very reasonable price. Full-bodied structure, elegantly blended tannins on jammy, overripe black fruits with a return to balsamic vinegar. Ample and dense. Soft, spicy finish on vanilla and caramel. A gift for the taste buds with a slice of pan-fried veal liver.
